  8. ChyAnn! You are beautiful!!! I don't have lupus and I'm not a child, but I do know about physical disabilities. I cried out loud at your story. To think ANYONE would tease or bully someone so beautiful on the inside and out, makes me angry and sad. I loved your pretty little white dress, too!! Keep up your good work.

  10. ChyAnn, how are you doing? Ironically enough your story of living with lupus sounds a little like mine. I was diagnosed at the age of 14 and I struggled with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus up until my late twenties. However, what bothered me most is how people treated me after I began taking steroids. I decided to turn my negative experience with living with lupus in to a form of empowerment for others. I write inspirational books and I'm the Founder of SHE'S Empowered (Sister Helping Encourage Sisters) where we advocate lupus awareness and empowerment with workshops and an annual conference.

The SHE'S Empowered 5th Annual Women's Empowerment Conference Butterfly Bash will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Dr. Charles H Wright Museum of African American History from 4pm-8pm. If you interested in being my guest contact me at 313-492-6953. I will make sure you get a ticket. To find out more visit www.shesempowered.com or www.butterflybash2014.eventbrite.com

    Keep up the AWESOME Work.

You are beautiful from your anti nucleus antibodies all the way out to your beautiful smile! :) stay positive, eat healthy food, get lots of rest and know you'll be ok! :)

  23. Although no one else in my family has lupus I was diagnosed at age 13 following 5 years of unexplained health issues (I'm 30 now). I can relate to the torture of other children when the steroids drastically changed my appearance. You are ahead of the game though, taking charge of your life reaching out to others to be an aid and an inspiration to others who feel there is no hope in their fight against immune disorders. I applaud your efforts and want to let you know that you are an amazing lupus warrior and I want to wish you peace and success in all your future endeavors. --- Xena
